Welcome to New Jersey’s Cherry Blossom Festival. The Pride of Essex County.
For the last 38 years, people from throughout New Jersey have traveled to Essex County Branch Brook Park to celebrate spring under an awning of pink petals every April. The Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the arrival of spring with a jam packed schedule of events that pays homage to the historic Essex County Park System, captures the beauty of the cherry tree, and embraces the Japanese tradition of hanami. The festival is administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs and is supported by corporate and community partners throughout Essex. Many events are free and all are open to the public.

Aetna’s support of the Festival and Essex County is consistent with its commitment to improve the quality of life of those communities in which our employees live and work.
The Branch Brook Park Alliance (BBPA) is a public/private partnership organized in 1999. It champions the park, a masterwork of landscape architecture, conceived by Frederick Law Olmsted Sr. and designed by the Olmsted Brothers. Together with the County of Essex and a community of friends, it is restoring the park’s historic design and restoring it for today's lively use.
